Here’s an interesting tidbit from the official reddit AMA: The reason why we’re seeing so much shit go down the toilet these days is because we have a bunch of shit jobs.
When you have a shit job like a sales rep or a software engineer, they’ve been shit for years and are getting paid less, but you still have people with tons of experience that are getting pushed into positions where they’re making less.
This is what’s called a salary crunch.
And in a post on Reddit, Reddit employee Daniel Rios explains that when the jobs are shitty, they get pushed into even less desirable roles, like support and support assistants.
“It’s like, I know a lot of people with jobs that are shitty but I don’t want to go there and make them shit,” Rios said.
“I think that’s the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard.”
