An aspiring hunter is going to need to be prepared to go into the bush to hunt and a bit more.
Key points:The NSW Premier says it will take a while for the economy to recover from the bushfiresThe NSW Government has already allocated $100m to help people affected by the bushfire crisisMore than 4,200 homes were destroyed in the bush fires of 2014-15The NSW Coalition is currently in the midst of a bushfires recovery plan that will see some of the most significant infrastructure investments made by the state made to rebuild the state and its rural communities.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the state’s bushfire recovery plan would be one of the largest in the country.
“We are investing in the recovery of the NSW economy and we are going to take some time to work through this process,” she said.
“There will be a lot of people out there in the Hunter’s Reserve that have been affected by bushfires that will have to work with the Government to find out what’s been done to help them get back to work.”
It will take some work, but the State Government will be able to provide that work.
“She said the Government would also consider creating a new job category to help those affected by fire and the bush.”
I have talked to the Governor about this and I have put forward a plan to create a new Job Search Jobs category for NSW,” she told reporters.”
So we will be looking at the Government’s response to those areas.
“We will be talking to the private sector to see how they can work with us to get people back to jobs and help them back to their homes.”
Ms Berejklon said the Hunter job hunt was expected to be one the biggest in the state for many years to come.
“In some ways, the Hunter and the Hunter reserve are the worlds best bushfire disaster preparedness, so it’s not going to be something that comes overnight,” she explained.
“But the Hunter program will be one area of work where we are looking at what we can do to help our community recover.”
Ms Berenich said the State government would also work with private sector organisations to help the unemployed get back into work.
She said while there was still work to be done, the Government was working hard to get the job hunt started.
“Our priority is that we have a strong job market and we want to give people the opportunity to get a job,” she stated.
“The Hunter program is one of many opportunities for people to get back in work.”
Ms Bourke said the NSW Government was committed to creating jobs in the long term.
“This Government is committed to a strong economic recovery for the state, its people and the communities that are impacted by the fires of the past year,” she confirmed.
“With that in mind, we are working hard on rebuilding the Hunter Reserve and we will continue to support the recovery efforts to be undertaken by local and state government and industry.”
